We're excited to announce that Nyla Nova STEMversity® recently had the opportunity to provide a weeklong STEM program at Camp Crosser, courtesy of a $3,700 grant received by the Tom & Soni Sheehan Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville from the Duke Energy Foundation. The grant was presented to the club in October 2023 following the initial announcement in August 2023.

Camp Crosser, led by the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville, is an energetic, fun, and educational seasonal program that caters to children aged 6-13. Our involvement marked our first visit to the venue, an occasion enabled by the generous grant allocated by Duke Energy Foundation.

Sophie Collier, the youth recreation director at the Boys & Girls Club of Noblesville, expressed gratitude for the grant that facilitated our visit. She appreciated the depth of understanding we brought to STEM concepts and their relevance in the students' environment, remarking, "Honestly, we were really lucky to have them donate this money because, again, they just provided a more in-depth understanding of STEM and STEM around us."

Our program at Camp Crosser included interactive activities centered around nature, such as flowers and soil, allowing the students to put their newfound knowledge into practice immediately. Collier found it rewarding "to see that the kids could learn about the STEM activity, then take what they just learned and go apply it to camp right after so they could actually get that hands-on experience."

Mark LaBarr, the government and community relations manager for Duke Energy, highlighted the company's commitment to nurturing a future workforce in the energy sector. He also commended the Boys & Girls Club for serving a "very needed and necessary purpose" and expressed approval for our STEM programming.

We're thrilled to have had this opportunity and look forward to continuing our mission of equipping naturally curious students with interactive STEM experiences for success in school and beyond! Ready to explore partnership opportunities with us? Contact us today!
